East-West History Network (EWHN) and East-West History Publications (EWHP) are affiliated public forums dedicated to exploring the history, culture, religion, politics and world affairs which lie at the intersection of ‘East’ and ‘West’. We seek to bring the past into meaningful conversation with the present by offering thoughtful analytical and journalistic commentary, podcasts, extended essays, short books, topical resource guides and other educational material of a thought-provoking nature to help readers and listeners better understand the forces shaping our present world. Our focus is broad by design: local and global, ancient and modern, political and cultural, religious and secular.

Moving away from understandings grounded in older monolithic and clashing civilizational divides, ‘East’ and ‘West’ here represent contested constructs of a malleable and permeable nature which not only shift across both time and space, but intersect with equally varying and shifting  ideas of ‘North’ and ‘South’, all situated within a larger global frame. While taking special interest in ‘east-west’ exchanges both historically and presently, EWHN and EWHP thus serve to foster globally informed perspectives on our past and present world.
